WELCOME TO THE ROTONDA WEST WOMAN’S CLUB
Living the Volunteer Spirit
WHO WE ARE
GFWC Rotonda West Woman’s Club is an all volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit service organization working to improve the community by volunteering time and financial resources to support numerous local and national charities and groups. We are living the volunteer spirit with love, respect and kindness for all.
Rotonda West Woman’s Club was organized by new residents of Rotonda West in 1973 and federated in the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) in 1974. We celebrated 50 years of service to the community on May 1, 2024. Membership is open to all like-minded area residents.
The General Federation of Women’s Clubs is an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. GFWC is one of the oldest philanthropic organizations in the USA - older than the Rotary Club, the Lions Club and even predating the D.A.R. by six months. With over 60,000 members in affiliated clubs in every state, the District of Columbia, and more than a dozen countries, GFWC members work in their own communities to improve lives, protect the environment and encourage each other through our state and national leadership.
WHAT WE DO
Our Community Service Programs (CSPs) and Special Project address issues that affect our communities daily. We are promoting the Arts, improving Health and Wellness, preserving the Environment, supporting Education and Libraries, initiating Civic Engagement and Outreach, and assisting in addressing Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention.
Club activities are facilitated by members who share their knowledge and skills, and there is something for everyone. Creative Crafters imagine and prepare hand-made items to be sold at the annual bazaar. Sew-N-Sews make various items for the bazaar as well as lap robes, tote bags and items which are donated to support local and national charities. The Knit & Chat group knits and crochets mittens, hats, scarves, and baby items for the bazaar and as donations for needy families in impoverished areas. The Tonettes Choral group visits retirement and nursing homes where they sing and chat with residents. Seven book clubs provide the opportunity for each member to broaden her knowledge of the world.

GFWC Rotonda West Woman’s Club were honored to be selected as Grand Marshalls for the Pioneer Days Parade on Labor Day 2024. This was a wonderful surprise and, with two convertibles carrying five members, we represented the Club with pride. We also enjoyed sharing the day with Elsie Horton, also a Grand Marshall, and Mayor 4 A Day Laura Roy from the Jubilee Center.
